In a recent interview with Nas, he revealed that he has recorded a track with Dr. Dre for Detox. He had this to say about it;
“I did a joint. I think it’s crazy,” Nas says of working with Dre. “He’s someone I’d love to do a whole album with one day. He’s incredible. I think he’s the best producer of all time.”

From Busta Rhymes 8th Studio album “Back On My B.S.” comes the first track to become available, called “Decisions”. A star studded line-up join Busta on the track including Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, Common and John Legend. The track is produced by Dr. Dre which marks the 4th track either being released or leaked in 2009 by Dre. This is widely unexpected because of the lack of productions that we saw in 2008 where a total of 1 track was released.

The album is due in stores March 24th, 2009.

A few noteworthy things about the tracklisting.

- Dr. Dre is producing and is featured lyricly in “Ready for War”

- Dr. Dre is producing a total of 4 tracks.

-Eminem is producing 2 tracks and is featured in 1.

-Nate Dogg is featured in track 5 “Here for a Reason”, which marks his first appearance on an album since he had 2 strokes in 2008. Akon somehow tried to replace him as the new hook master, but I’m sure Nate will come back with a vengence.

Months ago, Dre said in a perfect world, he would like his album out by the end of 2008, and to nobody’s surprise the album was delayed yet again. By the looks of it now, Eminems album will be finished in January, and with about 2 months to promote it, we’ll see it released sometime in late February/early March. Assuming Dre stays on track with Detox after completing Eminem’s album, WestCoastFlow.com predicts an early Summer release of Detox followed by an Up In Smoke 2 Tour, which Bishop Lamont has already confirmed.

WestCoastFlow.com Aftermath calander prediction :

January 2009: 50 Cent releases “Before I Self Destruct”

March 2009: Eminem releases “Relapse”

June 2009: Dr. Dre releases Detox

July 2009: Up In Smoke 2 Tour

When Universal Music Group pushed highly anticipated albums from U2, Dr. Dre, Eminem and 50 Cent from the fourth quarter 2008 to 2009, it seemed like a final stake in the heart of music retail this year. But Interscope-Geffen-A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine refuses to apologize for the decision, which he says he made to ensure the projects would be the best they could be.

Here’s an except of the interview conducted by Billboard

So, let’s move from a record that is coming out this year to some that aren’t, like U2 and Eminem.

I met with the guys in U2, and they say to me, ‘You know what? This album needs two more songs, and it will be exactly what we have in mind.’ I go there and I listen, and I agreed with them. It’s a great record, but it deserves the time. Labels need to work with artists to help them achieve their best work, not to jam records out that are half-baked or three-quarters baked.

I’ll tell you about Eminem. We only tried to put him out this year to replace Dr. Dre, but we got into a quagmire. Eminem was always coming next year. But what happened was, I lost Dr. Dre to Eminem. Dre had to stop making his album to finish Eminem’s album. Eminem hit a streak, and when a guy like Eminem gets on fire, you stop everything. That’s how we lost Dre.

So what’s the status of Dre’s record?

Dre’s going back in in January. He’ll be finished with Eminem by then, and he’ll finish his album.

There’s a rumor in the retail world that Eminem might be an exclusive as well.

No. There’s no truth to that.

What parts of your business are growing?

Well, our Pussycat Dolls tour has sold 150,000 of 160,000 tickets, with eight weeks to go until the tour. That’s big. Other than Miley Cyrus, I don’t know a label that has something like that. We’re doing really, really well with licensing. Our 360 deals are working. We have that with Lady GaGa. Dr. Dre’s headphones are doing really, really, really well. It’s a fabulous product. We’re building a lot there. We’re building out some of our management stuff.

“Before I Self Destruct” has reportedly been pushed back again. The album move comes as 50 Cent was rushing to get his album finished for a December release. With the deadline approaching to secure advertising and retail placement for the album, the decision was made to move to a date in early 2009.

According to a statement from Interscope records, the rapper was feeling rushed to meet the initial release date of December 16, so a decision was made to push it back to early next year.

Despite all of this, and for further confusion, 50 was at UFC 91 last night in Las Vegas and in a quick interview with Joe Rogan, 50 Cent still claims the album will be released on December 9th.

More updates on the situation as it become available on WestCoastFlow.com

Eminem is unlikely to release his forthcoming new album, Relapse, before the end of 2008, claims an anonymous record company “insider.”

According to the New York Post, despite U.K. and U.S. retail websites listing the album as set for a December release, Relapse is likely to be released early next year.

“Eminem…is completely obsessive-compulsive about this album,” the source is quoted as saying. “There’s a 50/50 chance it will be done by the end of this year, but most likely it’ll be the first quarter of next year.”

Additional evidence of a 2009 release, 50 Cent’s ‘Before I Self Destruct’ release date was pushed back a week to December 16th, and I’m sure that Interscope wants album sales to die down before releasing a competing album. My best guess to Eminem’s Relapse release date would be late January/early February.

Just a minor setback in the Aftermath camp, “Before I Self Destruct” will get pushed back one week from December 9th to December 16th. Possibly to create a larger gap between the Kanye West west album release and 50′s release so album sales can die off from “808′s and Heartbreaks”.

50′s album is said to features production from Dr. Dre, Eminem, Scott Storch, Sha Money XL and Ty Fyffe, Play-N-Skillz, J. R. Rotem and Timbaland.

“Before I Self Destruct”, the movie and the album, will be released on Dec 16th.

UPDATE (11/16): The Album will now be released ‘Early 2008′. Full Story HERE.

Is Eminem’s Relapse coming out two days before Christmas? According to a listing that popped up on Amazon.com, Slim Shady’s return after a four-year hiatus may be dropping December 23rd. Interscope hasn’t released official word about Relapse’s release date, and Amazon has altered the listing to the vague “TBD” since news of the pre-order page spread. In the past, however, Amazon has proven to be a trustworthy oracle regarding albums that were not yet announced. In the past year, both the Raconteurs’ surprise release of Consolers of the Lonely and Rivers Cuomo’s Alone II were revealed via Amazon pre-order pages rather than traditional press releases. Plus, Em himself hinted that Relapse could be out before the end of the year, and two days before the most marketable day of the year makes more sense from a sales standpoint than a post-Christmas release.

“It’s a catch-22,” the rapper said over the weekend in Las Vegas, referring to the criticism he received for Curtis, an album that he calls “softer” than Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and The Massacre. “They’ll say, ‘Oh, it’s too aggressive.’ … Soon as you do something that’s a little more lighthearted, and you can play the whole record and feel like you don’t have to cover your kid’s ears, I get penalized for it. So get ready to cover your kid’s ears. Now I’m really interested in seeing how the public responds.” ‘Get Up,’ is just the appetizer,” he said on Saturday, in a separate interview at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. “I got so much more, so many different records to feel out and see what direction I wanna go in next. I’ve been writing this record for a year. I started Before I Self Destruct before I started Curtis. Conceptually, this one has been very well-groomed.”

Unlike Curtis, which had cameos from Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke, it doesn’t seem like 50 is too interested in having collaborators stop by the studio this time around. Eminem is the only name he shared. (50 described the record “Norman Bates Motel” as “the return of Slim Shady.”)

“So far, I’ve kinda kept to myself and wrote what I felt was exciting from my perspective, It’s always fun working with Em for me. He’s in a space where he has the luxury of just being able to sit down. The rest of us … me, I do the actual footwork. Dre hasn’t had an album out in seven years. Em — two years. Me — seven, eight months. They send me out to test the waters, and everyone else will jump in the tub. I stay a little more active. Em is by far the biggest rap artist, period. I’m the largest hip-hop touring artist. I travel more places than he travels to be in front of a live audience.”

50 traveled to Detroit to stay with Em twice while recording. One time was over the span of a weekend, and Em encouraged his signee to carry out his idea of shooting a movie to accompany the album.

“He’s like, ‘Go, just do it. If you wanna go, just do it, and we’ll figure everything out after the fact,’ ” 50 recalled. “There were a few technical questions, considering this is my fourth and final actual studio album. My fifth album requirement [to Shady/Aftermath] is a greatest-hits requirement.”

The film “Before I Self Destruct” will be packaged with the album on December 9
