Unfortunate news for fans of the rapper Ice Cube, but great news for the fans of actor Ice Cube.

He is gearing up to write and produce a forthcoming US television comedy show.

The rap star will mastermind the buddy cop comedy for television network NBC. Although he is not slated to star in the show, it is expected that he will make some guest appearances on the program, and perhaps even write the opening credits theme song, reports Variety.

The project is not yet titled, and is expected to premiere in 2009.

Ice Cube Ringtones To Your Phone

The Game’s album “L.A.X.” dropped from #10 to #14 on the The Billboard 200 chart after 5 weeks of being released.

Ice’s Cube’s album “Raw Footage” dropped from #56 to #83 after 6 weeks of being released. Ice Cube’s album peaked at #6 on its opening week.

UPDATE (10/3): Raw Footage is released internationally today.

“Let it Fly” the first single of Trick Trick’s album “The Villain” has hit iTunes today. The track features Ice Cube & Lil’ Jon. The production is also handled by Lil’ Jon.

Trick Trick, a Detroit rapper, will have his album released in 2008 and according to an unsourced article in Wikipedia, some of the production of the album will be handled by Dr. Dre & Eminem. Updates to the validity of the article as it becomes available.

The latest single and music video from Ice Cube’s Raw Footage album, which was released last month, is “Why Me?” featuring Musiq Soulchild. The video premiered on BET last night.
